FLOWER BABIES

By Talia Carner and Sandi Bloomberg ( www.SandiBloomberg.com )

"There is a place where babies live,
With no hope for tomorrow.
A place where flower babies die,
Filled with only grief and sorrow."

Refrain:
"Flower babies bloom unseen,
Flower babies die unloved.
Flower babies, petals plucked, the color's gone
Morning dew has dried before the day's begun."

Lost in the cold of the night,
In a place with no heat or light.
Flower babies die unloved
Reach heaven on the wings of doves."

"Flower Babies, forever in our hearts you'll glow,
You shine down a world you'll never know.
Each little dead flower now a star,
Your wails strum the strings of my guitar."

PEACE IS THE COLOR OF DOVE

By Talia Carner

"We are tall, we are short, we're black, we're white,
We are blessed or are cursed by fate or birthright.
But the whole world over,
Peace is the color of a dove,
And we all share,
The feeling of love."

THE RUNAWAY KID

By Talia Carner

I scramble up rickety flights of stairs,
Slosh through farm mud puddles,
Again I crawl into stinking lairs.
Trekking your steps, fitting pieces of a puzzle,
I search all over for you, the runaway kid.

You're too young to have lost all hope.
Too young to slide down this treacherous slope.
What have they done to you, to want to hide?
What happened to you, to cause you this fright?
I ask, have some hope, the runaway kid.

Refrain:
Did they do their best, but their best wasn't enough?
Are they searching for you, with their last shred of love?
It may not be ideal, it may not be what you want.
But it is better than this, being under the gun,
Oh, runaway kid, come back, please don't run.

I see your hungry, drawn face,
I see your wounded, vacant eyes.
Punishing yourself in this horrible place,
Your silence. Your stare. Your defiance cries.
I pray, come out from hiding, the runaway kid.

There is more to life than hiding in here,
There is a world out there you shouldn't fear.
There're people with goodness in their hearts for you,
There're places to make your future come true.
Come up, make it happen, the runaway kid.

Refrain:
Did they do their best, but their best wasn't enough?
Are they searching for you, with their last shred of love?
It may not be ideal, it may not be what you want.
But it is better than this, being under the gun,
Oh, runaway kid, come back, please don't run.

PLANT YOUR OWN GARDEN

By Talia Carner

I'll plant my own garden
My own flowers and trees.
I'll plant my own garden,
My own thoughts and beliefs.
I need no one's to decide,
If I can dream on my own,
I want no one else to guide,
My own mind's comfort zone.
